First off, I have to say how surprised I am at the comments and e-mails I received after my last post. I’m amazed that so many of you dont knit for christmas, and dont care to either. I was absolutely amazed but inspired. Why feel rushed right? Most of you expressed the same sentiment ” I knit when I want, I feel no pull to knit on demand”
Good for you, good for all of you. I really mean that. I agree. Its not like we’re pioneers up in here, and if you dont knit socks your family just doesnt get ‘em. We have all the essentials right. We knit for pleasure, pure joy.
I’m still going to knit for christmas. Just maybe not as much.
And so I took all last week to make this. ahem… for ME.
Despite the fact that Rachel is modeling it, it IS MINE. and I love it.
Pattern: Topi
Yarn: Cascade 220, LESS THAN 1 SKEIN !!! Thrifty!!
Needles: Size 7 16″ Circulars
Results: LOVE IT. Love it so much I am going to make another for Rachel but in her size. This is the largest size and it fits me with ease. She will need the smallest size. Excellent fun knit. And I’m still looking for some funky buttons to embelish with.
Great hat! Great model! When are we gonna see you wearing Topi?
good looking person in that picture you got there! nice hat!
What a cute hat and a beautiful girl!
Now that hat is simply adorable!!!!!!!!!! So is the cutie pie who is modeling it!!!!!

And YES.. I do knit for Christmas.. I just keep making things and send them all up to the Grandkids in Buffalo..
I just sent 3 sweaters but I should have held them for Christmas.. Oh Well.. There are always the no pressure things like hats, scarves, mittens.
