Both tops have been pieced together WHOOT

Here they are, laid out on my couches. I have been reading my quilting book and doing some internet searches on how to finish these bad boys and decided to Stitch in the Ditch, Which is supposed to be great for beginners.
I cut the batting for both blankets, cut and sewed the back panels for both, and spent last night sandwiching and pinning them. I got Rachels up to the machine and did all the stitching as well. Its awesome.
I mean, I can see with my critical eye where i need to improve, but thats what I am doing. I’m learning. You can only read so much before you need to just jump in and do. Then when your hands feel the way they learn. I’m so so so in love with these blankets. They make my heart swell 10 sizes. I even have enough of the backing fabric left that I am going to whip off some little matching pillows for them!!! Over the next few days I need to do the stitching on Renas and bind them both. But I can already see in my minds eye how wonderful they will look.
AND, i have these little guys to hand stitch to the back

Bring it on Christmas, I’m almost ready
