Home is where the knits are

We bought a house.
Thats where I’ve been. Absent from here and signing papers, making arrangements and obsessing over the photos I have of the house. We are so excited. I could gush on and on but suffice it to say the house has a little something for everyone, wood burning fireplace, gas fireplace, in-ground pool, wet-bar, french doors. We had to go a little out of the city to get our wish list in our budget, but the commute will be worth it.

I have also been knitting!!! I’m just starting to get a handle on the amount of packing to be done here but our first step was to empty our storage closet (also commonly referred to as the yarn closet) and sort & pack the items within. All my yarn that is not involved in an active project has been packed. I decided this is an excellent time to finish up some little WIPs.

First up on the FO list, my Dish Towel.

This little cutie is from Mason Dixon Knitting outside the lines and is finished in good timing to be hung in my new kitchen. I’m definitely going to make a few more. I used about a ball and half of the handi-crafter cotton from my local Wal-Mart.

Second, My Waffle Scarf!

This FO is modeled by my very own DH and looks fantastic. I do want to make a few more of these as gifts as I LOVED this for T.V knitting because of how easy the pattern is to memorize. I dont even need to look down :) I used about a ball of Lion Brand Wool-Ease for this one. Measurements on these two projects are shifty because I used stashed odds and ends for both.

Part of the joy of moving is that I’m finally donating/giving away a bunch of yarn that I have in my yarn closet that is for projects long forgotten and is stuff that doesn’t fit in with my current knitting persona. Better to give it to those who will use it and narrow down my stash to stuff that still excites me!

Okay, I’m off to analyze the WIP pile to see whats up next on my list to finish up !~

I’ve been packing and sorting and giving away yarn and other stuff too, but we are only going to renovate our house. I’ll never let it get so cluttered in the future, that’s for sure!

  5. Woot!!! Congrats!! You will never love anything the way you love your OWN home! Welcome to the world of mortgages and maintenance! LOL! (just kidding!)
